"Texuring Range Surfaces from Photographs"

Abstract: Given a three-dimensional model constructed from range images of a real-world scene, we would like to apply textures to the model from photographs of the scene. We propose a imethod that extracts a coarse 3D point cloud from a stereo set and search for a rigid 3D transformation that map range data to stereo coordinate system. Once the correspondance is established, we compute texture coordinates mapping portions of the photographs to model surfaces.
