Capstone: Vision Based Digital Library

In this project-based course students are grouped into teams to work on projects of practical importance in digital library. Available project topics include

Each team chooses one topic and learn more in-depth and the state-of-the-art knowledge regarding their choice topic by group study and instruction/supervision by the instructor to form the conceptual understanding and thus establishing requirements, specification, and architectural system design. These are done in the first semester.

In the ensuing semester, each team continues their project with detailed design, implementation, integration, testing, experiment evaluation, and finally delivers the project at the end of the second semester. Through this large project of considerable technical depth, students are expected to close in on the fore-front of researches and developments in digital library with a concentration on vision and image processing. Furthermore, students have a chance to apply their software engineering knowledge in a large project full of technical challenge. Consequently this course provides the following benefits:
