A project (ACCESS) to export to the community colleges of the CUNY system the techniques for teaching introductory computer programming developed by Troeger at City College and Syracuse University. The project consisted of three phases: (i) instructing the community college faculty in the course methodology, (ii) offering a summer course for community college students, jointly taught on the Treisman model by City College and community college faculty, and (iii) assisting community college faculty in implementing the course on their home campuses. A pilot run of this course was funded at the level of $45,000 by CUNY in the Summer and Fall of 1993.
